What it takes to drive
with GoNex.
GoNex partners with professional, qualified drivers. Meet the requirements below and you're ready to begin the application.
Minimum Age
Drivers must be at least 21 years of age. Some markets and vehicle tiers may require a higher minimum — your local requirement is shown during the application.
Valid Driving Credentials
A valid US driver's license issued by your state of residence, with at least one year of driving experience (three years if you are under 23).
Vehicle Eligibility
A 4-door vehicle in good condition, no more than 15 model years old, with working seatbelts for all passengers and no commercial branding or damage.
Local Regulatory Compliance
Compliance with all state and city ride-share regulations, including any TNC or TLC licensing, vehicle inspections, and permits required in your market.
Professional Conduct
Treat every rider with respect. Maintain a clean vehicle, communicate clearly, and uphold the standards expected of a professional GoNex driver.
Safety Compliance
Clean driving record, no DUI or major moving violations in the last seven years, and willingness to complete safety check-ins and platform training updates.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Uploading the right documents up front is the fastest way to get on the road. Clear photos or scans — no glare, all four corners visible.
Government-Issued ID
A valid US passport, state ID, or other government-issued photo identification. Used to verify your identity before activation.
Driver's License
Front and back of your current US driver's license. Must be valid, unexpired, and issued by your state of residence.
Vehicle Registration
Current vehicle registration showing the vehicle you plan to drive on the GoNex platform. Registration must be active and match the vehicle details.
Vehicle Insurance
Proof of US auto insurance meeting your state's minimum coverage requirements. Your name must appear on the policy.
Background Check Authorization
Electronic authorization for GoNex to run a criminal and motor vehicle background check through our third-party screening provider.
Profile Photo
A recent color photo showing your face clearly — no sunglasses, hats, or filters. Riders see this photo in the app before every trip.

Upload Required Documents
Upload your government ID, driver's license, vehicle registration, insurance, and profile photo directly through the GoNex portal.

Background Verification
Our screening partner runs a criminal history and motor vehicle records check. Most checks complete within 3–7 business days.

Application Review
The GoNex team reviews your application, documents, and background check results to confirm you meet our standards.

Interview or Orientation
Depending on your market, you may complete a short online orientation or attend a brief interview to walk through platform expectations and safety protocols.

Approval and Activation
Once approved, your driver account is activated. Download the GoNex driver app, log in, and you're ready to accept your first trip.
